Progress Update 09/21/2024
Good progress continues this week, with the largest addition being a revamped graphical auto-evo report that will make understanding exactly what is going on in your world easier.
Various graphical improvements, such as new chunks and improved convolution surfaces, and work on part customization and more rewarding engulfment increases gameplay variety. And, as always, bug-squashing.

This week, we have continued working on many aspects of the game, including the development of new features that didn't quite make it into the previous release, and the usual bug fixes. Overall, it has been a productive week with smooth collaboration and solid progress.
The most prominent and exciting feature which will be available in the latest devbuild is the implementation of real 3D membranes for our microbes. Our cells are no longer cut-outs of transparent paper overlaid onto …

It's the final week before the release of 0.7.0 and we have now entered feature-freeze. This means that all further development efforts are now aimed at bugfixes and polishing of the new features, and by golly there are a lot of them! Excited about these new features and just can't wait one more week to give them a spin? Worry not! W…

Once again we are met with a reasonably productive week as our talented team continues to churn out much-needed improvements and additions to Thrive. Among the latest changes; the finalization of our long-awaited sprinting feature and comparatively smarter movement handling for AI. They no longer only move directly forward, so watch out for strafing predators! There has also been some incredible work going on behind the scenes, which you can get a sneak-peak of in the sections below.

This week we've had a lot of great progress in a variety of features, as well as some bug fixes that will make the game play out much more smoothly for everyone. The most notable change is that players on easy mode will now be able to continue playing the game post-extinction if they happened to make some bad choices, by living on through a conveniently present closely related species.
We have just three more weeks until the release of 0.7.0, so look folks can look forward to even m…

Coming up next, our developers have made excellent progress on a new experimental autoevo system, which if all things continue to go well, will hopefully make it into the coming release.
We are proud to announce that thanks to all the progress we a…

Volunteer efforts have slowed down a bit this week compared to the initial further just last month, though the occasional discussion still pops up in our developer chatroom. Unfortunately this means there is not too much to show off this week.
