This week we’ve continued to expand on assets for Thrive; such as progress on the chemo-receptor part, and a movement sound rework. Additionally our lead programmer Hhyyrylainen has been focusing on reimplementing a functional in-game crash reporter, to help players report crashing that they experience. We hope to continue with good progress until the release of 0.5.7.
If you haven’t already, check out Thrive on Steam and Itch.io!
Programming
- We have been working on crash handling functionality for the launcher and devcenter, which means that we will have an in-game crash-reporter in 0.5.7 which should help us resolve many of the crashes that players have reported.
- New DevBuild for our patrons:
- Export script now detects missing Godot templates on Windows this caused the problem with a recent patch on Steam being completely broken
- Export script now doesn’t open a Godot window when exporting
- Skip folders that end in “.thrivesave” when looking for saves this prevents some errors caused by them
- Updated translations
Graphics
- Created model for the chemo-receptor part.
Gameplay
- Began discussion of water current generation on the forums.
Sound
- Reworked the cell movement audio to be more smooth and level. (No more woop woop woop).
