This week’s spotlight is TJwhale’s progress on the planet generator. In the current revision, you can choose different features for your system, such as planetary size, distance to the star, or different gas concentrations. Of course, if you’re a fan of the one you’re on, Earth-like values are already loaded into the system. We even have a concept for the accompanying UI.
We’ve discussed about adding more options to the generator, like stars outside of the main sequence (such as white dwarves or red giants) as well as further changing your planet’s composition and atmosphere. NicktheNick has also progressed on his Auto evo algorithm and now a “playtesting” version is available on the community forums as a forum game, you can check it out here (although you’ll need a forum account to try it).

I need that thrive bug… Please don’t patch it yet!
Have you guys considered going on Patreon or Steam to fund the game?
This has been discussed over and over since this proyect started, we have an entire article dedicated to it: http://thrivegame.wikidot.com/money-and-thrive
tl;dr it’s complicated to fund something like this, so for now we are going to keep relaying on voluntary work.
Hrmm… the bug looks like a fun visual effect. Fora moment i thought it was the transition to multicelluar stage…. it is bad i hope so much?
