Much of our work for this week has been involved in various WIP features, such as an in-game concept art gallery and changes to the auto-evo algorithm. Don’t worry though because we still have a good amount of finished additions to show off such as variable turning speed, eukaryotic damage reduction, and the new cilia part!
Programming
- New DevBuild for our patrons:
- Cilia organelle is finally in the game (after been wanted since 2014). It affects how fast cells and colonies can turn. Big cells need cilia to turn as fast as they currently do in the game.
- Saving is now possible in specific parts of prototypes. In early multicellular the swimming around in the cell stage is one such part
- Improved auto-evo production calculations with goal of making various 1 hex organelles perform better
- Added a 50% damage reduction to cells with a nucleus
- Fixed a case where the new mutations generation code could get stuck
- Fixed bug introduced last week where the game would incorrectly stay in pause mode after pausing. Refactored how we track whether the game should be paused or not
- Placing a unique organelle now deselects the organelle selection button
- Tweaked binding agent size and render order of nucleus ER and golgi components
- Added a check against engulfing starting on destroyed microbes
- Fixed some remaining issues in dynamic MP
- Updated translations
Graphics
- New lysosome icon by Magart
Gameplay
- Summary of the new engulfment rework.
Sound
- The upcoming art-gallery feature will include a jazzy remix of the main theme. It’s a draft as of now, so keep your eyes peeled for the final rendition when it comes around!
