Progress Update 5/29/2021

Lot’s of backend work has been accomplished this week, such as progress on updating Thrive to Godot 3.3, CI updates, and so on. We are also still working on hiring a paid developer now that we have reached our patreon goal.

We are renaming the next incoming release to 0.5.4. We are hoping that this release will be ready to ship out next month.

Programming

  • New Build of the Day:
    • Upgraded to Godot 3.3.2
    • Bumped version to 0.5.4-alpha to reflect upcoming version
    • Our patreon is now linked from our repository
    • Cell rotation physics angles are now all locked, should help with the cell forward direction getting out of sync with the graphics
    • Moved over to a new CI system from ThriveDevCenter, still needs various tweaks to make this work perfectly
    • Tweaked offset of Godot tooltips relative to the cursor
    • Made a scene for colour pickers to be easily addable with the thrive theming
    • Cell membrane is now shown in the membrane tab in the editor
    • Different membrane types now have different base wigglyness amounts and the rigidness now also affects the wigglyness
    • Fixed crash when trying to really quickly exit the editor by smashing the next button
    • Tweaked osmoregulation factor numbers for the membranes, single membrane now has a factor of 1
    • Refactored organelle tooltips to use bbcode syntax to allow translations to reorder organelle process descriptions. This will allow many languages to have natural sounding translations instead of trying to make the english word order work.
    • Updated translations
