Progress Update 8/27/2022

This week we’ve put some extra focus on implementing some of the larger features of 0.5.10, such as the mucilage jet and day/night cycle. Discussions continue on how we plan to handle the upgrades system going forward, and how they might affect the progression of the microbe stage.

Programming

  • New DevBuild for our patrons:
    • The patch map is now shown in the auto-evo exploring tool
    • Added new multicellular music tracks
    • Patch name overlay is now on top of the movement tutorial
    • Auto-evo exploring tool behaviour values can now be translated
    • Our draggable scroll containers now hide the scroll bars by default
    • Updated translations
  • Discussion on game performance and how to improve it.
  • Started implementation of the 3D gameplay prototype
  • Implemented patch map view to the autoevo exploring tool

Graphics

  • MirrorMonkey2 and Roseae collaborated to create the model and icon for our newest addition to the part roster.

Gameplay

  • Added multiple multicellular themes by LegoHoss and Oliver Lugg to the game.
