Progress Update 10/17/2020

Time to discuss the future of Thrive again. As you know, we had the 0.5.2 release last week and as always we discussed what is going to be included in the next release.

Last time we talked about binding agents and we want to work on them again in this version. Other new features include improving saving, improving balance, more work on the spawn system and working on the procedural patch map, among other things.

Devblog #26: Learning the basics

We bring you a new release, Thrive 0.5.2! What’s new? Well, for the first time in years tutorials are back! At last, we have an easy way to teach new players the basics of this game. Another big feature is the new interfaces, we remade the Editor, Patch map and Report screen UIs to finally match the rest of the game.

Progress Update 9/19/2020

We’ve talked about changing the microbe stage soundtrack for a while now. Most of these songs are years old and some members of the community think that they need a rework or that we need new tracks. We are still discussing about this so no decisions so far are final, but you can expect to see more discussion about this in the coming weeks.

Progress Update 8/29/2020

There was a lot of discussion on the forums. Several new features were proposed, most notably, unlocking new organelles, proteins and enzymes randomly instead of having them all available from the start. Since this is a big change and we are still debating about it, we also made a thread on the community forums where you can vote on these decisions.
