Progress Update 01/14/2023

Business as usual this week, as we make steady progress on the advancement of Thrive. Notable achievements are the implementation of controller support for tab navigation, some new chilly sounds from our dedicated sound team, and new progress on the multiplayer prototype.

Programming

  • New DevBuild for our patrons:
    • Added new auto-evo exploring tool features (exporting data, running multiple worlds in a row + others)
    • Much more of the game GUI is now usable with a controller or the keyboard
    • Implemented controller navigation of tabbed GUI interfaces
    • Fixed a bug where left and right keys didn’t work for GUI focus control
    • GUI button focus visuals where they look bad should now be fixed
    • Added controller button icons from Xelu
    • Highlighted git submodule importance in our setup instructions
    • Updated translations
    • The evolutionary tree is now in the game when playing freebuild
  • The multiplayer prototype developed by KasterisK has reached a reportedly functional state, and now awaits connection testing between players. Let us know how it goes for you if you decide to try it out yourself!
